Ponyloaf presents 'A Quiet Riot' - a hi-tech music performance, audio installation and silent protest against noise restrictions imposed on Fortitude Valley music venue Rics Bar - on Thursday October 28 at the aforementioned venue. Audiences are invited to listen to live performances by bringing their own portable radios into the vicinity of the venue and tuning into a short range FM transmitter. No amplification at all will be used at the event.
78 Saab hits the road this October in support of its sophomore album, Crossed Lines, due in stores October 18 through Ivy League Records. Regurgitator releases the single, The Drop, in stores October 4 through Valve. The Workshop launches its debut full length album, Tired & Dirty, in its hometown on Saturday October 24 at the Australian Hotel, Wingham, mid north coast of NSW. Supports will be Rycad and Tent For The Sun. Released in stores October 1 through MGM, the album was recorded in member Kevin's own studio, Sureshot Recordings, over a period of two years.
Sound No Sound a semi-regular showcase event is going on a road trip up to Newcastle for a show at Morrow Park Bowling Club - Station St, Wickham - on Friday October 1 from 7pm till midnight. Performing on the night will be The Rebel Astronauts, Rand and Holland, Castings, Audiophile and Hiss. Castings will be using this show to launch its debut EP, Electro Disco Weirdo. The three track EP was recorded in March & April of 2004, and is released independently in Australia and on Tiny Philanthropist Records in America.
Fangs has released its debut album, This Time, on independent label Southern Electric Records - co-founded by the band and Sydney songwriter Talamere. The album features twelve tracks recorded in January this year. Five songs from the record can freely be download from the band's website www.fangscentral.com. October will see the three piece relocating from Sydney to Melbourne.

Old Man River - aka Sydney-based singer-songwriter Ohad Rein - releases his debut, The Sunshine EP, in stores October 11 through MGM Distribution. Peabody has completed its second album titled, The New Violence. Like the band's first album, it was produced by Jamie Hutchings and engineered by David Trump. The album will be out in March 2005, but there will be a single out in October called Got You On My Radar. The single will be supported by a national tour, including dates in Western Australia - marking a first for the band.
Ramonettes embarks its first tour of Europe this September and October. The Adelaide three piece will undertake a tour of former Yugoslavian countries - Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia & Montenegro - followed by Western Europe including gigs in Amsterdam, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Rome, Paris and London. Addiction 64 - after seven years, over 250 shows, three CD releases and many thousands of kilometres travelled - has decided to call it a day. The band will be playing its last ever ever show this Sunday September 12 at King Pin Bowling Lounge - level two, Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, corner Victoria and Burnley St, Richmond. Meredith Music Festival organisers have announced the first round of acts. On the bill will be The Dirty Three, Hilltop Hoods, Dallas Crane, True Live, Wolfmother, Ground Components, and Spiderbait. Cold Chisel's Ringside DVD is out this week through Warner Music. Filmed and recorded live over four nights at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion in June 2003, the DVD contains over two and a half hours of footage, showcasing twenty–three live tracks of the band's legendary performance.

Peter Fenton has released his debut solo album, In The Lovers Arms, in stores. The album was recorded with engineer Wayne Connolly, and features: Richard Andrew (Registered Nurse) on drums, David Lane on piano, and Ben Fletcher (The Devoted Few). Tracy Ellis (Knievel), Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens, Cleopatra Wong) and many more also guested on the recorded. A national tour in support of the record is slated for November.
Dirtbird launches its new album, High Water Dover, in Ballarat and Melbourne this September: Friday Sept 10 @ Grainery Lane, Ballarat; and Thursday Sept 16 @ The Old Bar, Fitzroy w/ The Woulds. The Living End releases From Here On In, on both audio CD and DVD, on September 27 thru EMI. The CD is a 14 track album featuring 12 hit singles and two new tracks. Accompanying limited copies of the CD is the bonus disc Under The Covers, featuring a collection of the rare and requested covers. The DVD is a feature length documentary from the beginning of the band right through until now, including all of the clips and live footage.
