10th September, 2008

Augie March release their new album Watch Me Disappear in stores October 11, accompanied by a national tour during October and November. The album's release will be preceded by the first single, Pennywhistle, available September 16 as a digital download, and in stores from September 27.

Augie March have spent the past 18 months or so variously writing and recording a new album in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and LA, plus touring North America, supporting the mighty Crowded House on their comeback run, playing the odd festival show and continuing to receive high praise around the globe for their previous platinum-plated platter, amongst other things. One thing they have not done in that time, however, is undertake a proper headline tour of their homeland. That situation is hereby rectified.

The Watch Me Disappear Tour hits the cities for a series of shows that will feature material from that so-named forthcoming album, Watch Me Disappear.

The title track of the new album made its way into the cyber world last week to a massive blur of download activity and blog-love. The first actual single is a song named Pennywhistle and it will be available in Australia as a digital download from September 16th and in stores from September 27th.

Watch Me Disappear - the album - is out in Australia on October 11th 2008.

Now, about the tour...

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are on sale from Thursday 11th September nationally through various outlets and www.augiemarch.com.

Fabulously gifted and charming Melbourne raconteur Dan Kelly will join the Augies on the road with current outfit The Ukeladies, who perhaps require no explanation as to their make-up. Get there early for a very entertaining night. Details of all venues are below.
